St. Thomas, at 13 miles long and four miles wide, falls in between St. Croix (the largest) and St. John (the smallest) in size of the three U.S. Virgin Islands. St. Thomas is known for its beaches and views of other islands. However, shortly after arriving, the weather became very overcast and rainy so on my tour photo-stops I heard a lot of "if it weren't overcast, you could see ???? from here." So those photo opportunities were lost, however, you have to take the weather as it comes on vacation and make the best of it. I also had a blessing that didn't seem to begin that way. I wasn't able to get the outside seat in the open sided tour bus we were on when someone made their way ahead of me to procure that in-demand seat. Then, ten minutes later when it started raining, that person got soaked and I stayed nice and dry. Given there weren't many photo opportunities due to the weather, I was happier to stay dry than have the better photo-taking seat.
